St Martins Lane Hotel Wedding – Catherine & Tony
This was my first St Martins Lane Hotel Wedding and a mighty fine one it was to make my debut. The rather delightful Catherine & Tony ‘split’ their wedding day in two parts starting at private members club Home House in Marylebone for the ceremony and luncheon with family before heading back to St Martins Lane for party time with friends. In between, Catherine, Tony and yours truly took the time and opportunity to shoot some images at both venues. As a wedding photographer its a blessing to have clients who are prepared to invest a little more time and trust on their day to allow us to get slightly more creative and artistic. More and more these days wedding days seem to have requirements on their time placed from all angles so it was a privilege that Catherine & Tony placed photography quite high their list.
St Martins Lane Hotel itself is full of design quirks, secrets and surprises so it was the perfect choice for these guys when looking for the best venue to host their non traditional wedding. Sure we had a white dress and we had some speeches but the format of the day lent itself towards a natural flow which ended up with a bonzer party. That’s what all weddings do isn’t it? I hear you say. Well, to a certain extent yes, but it was refreshing to have speeches late on for example, and it was quite unique to incorporate different elements and ‘moods’ seamlessly throughout the day helped by different backdrops and landscapes.
Quite a feat to pull it off really considering Catherine & Tony are your archetypal globetrotting courting couple. Catherine, being from the US but living in London and soon to be Qatar and Tony being from the UK but living in Doha. Throw into the mix a trip to the Seychelles and Sri Lanka on the cards and you can see why air miles might become the new crypto currency for these two.
Thats for giving me the time to shoot and thanks for making it such good fun. More Catherine’s and Tony’s and more St Martins Lane Hotel Weddings please.
