Louise & Joe
When you are planning an Art Deco inspired wedding in London, there are few places better suited than the Lansdowne Club. And as Louise happens to a member of this swish establishment, it proved to be the perfect fit. Not only does it look the part it also feels the part so it was pleasure to see Louise & Joe honour their wishes and also the clubs ethos with such style and swagger. Add into the mix a rather charismatic vicar fresh from his bike ride across town and we had the script written for a wonderful day.
Louise stayed at The Lansdowne Club the previous evening so for me it was just a case of popping upstairs on arrival to capture some bridal prep before Joe and his boys arrived to put the finishing touches to their respective looks just one floor down. I’m always bemused by how many attempts it takes us guys to tie a dickie bow but to be fair to Joe and his pals there were pretty adept at this so they headed down to the Crush Hall for some meet and greet.
As a Father to daughters myself, I love the moment when Dad sees bride for the first time in her splendour and applause must go to Louise and her Pop for holding back the tears at this point. It’s not an easy job being a parent but I suspect when you see your daughter looking as Louise did, you must feel pride as never before.
Ceremony time was hosted and conducted by our effervescent vicar who ensured our focus remained true to our real reason for being there. To see Louise & Joe start a life to together with a spring in their step and a ‘Fitz’ in their hearts.
Speeches proceeded dinner with the highlight being a musical best man combo which worked remarkably well to be honest. After some 600 weddings you are always delighted as a photographer (and listener) to see and hear some originality and thought go into speech time so the whoops of delight and appreciation from all those in attendance were well placed and well deserved and those whoops should be extended to the lovely Louise and Joe for hosting such a wonderful day.
Thanks to Theo and his team from The Lansdowne Club as always for making it such a fab place to work.
