Arts Club Wedding – Simon & Lazar
As you may expect from an Arts Club Wedding, there will be some glamour and general all round gorgeousness on show and Simon & Lazar’s day did not disappoint. An early start was in order with a 10am appointment at the staple for stylish weddings that is Chelsea Town Hall, and as ever, the staff there made it go with a pop and ensured it was a very inclusive affair for all those that had made the effort to skip brekkie. Off the steps and away to some greenery for photos was next on the agenda before base camp for the day was reached in the form of The Arts Club Mayfair. As you will see from the images, we had plenty of colour, style, and sophistication on offer to help these two celebrate they way it should be done. Some family, some friends, your best buddy and a few bottles of bubbles. There is something very decadent about a lunchtime celebration whatever the occasion I think and it made for a refreshing change to shoot some daytime jollities.
Simon and Lazar don’t really do mushy slushy or posed, so this was pretty much documentary wedding photography in its purest form. Shoot what is happening and shoot it well. Pop in, pop out, don’t interrupt or intrude. Just observe. We did do a few formals whilst still in Chelsea but that was very ad hoc, laid back and off the cuff and very much a representation of this fine couple. I think it always tells you a lot about clients (and people in general) if they have decent friends, and part of me was left wishing I could have continued shooting their evening festivities. Decent folk out for a good time, celebrating whats good and doing it to the full.
By the way, a quick word about The Arts Club for what its worth. Mighty fine staff, lovely swish venue with a real swagger about it. Well worth checking out should you be looking to hold your wedding/event/dinner/party/ in a smart part of town.
