I first met Louise & John 3 years ago at John’s brothers wedding, so it was with great pleasure that I got the chance to photograph their wedding last Sunday. I’ve increasingly found that its the bridegrooms, and not the brides, that suffer from pre-match nerves and John was no different. Trying to pass off moisture in his eyes as invading wasps as Louise sashayed down the aisle was fooling no-one (sorry John). These two have been together since the year dot, and although John has lost his ‘curtain’ hair cut that first made Louise go all wobbly, you can see that are as much as a good fit as you can get. A surprise appearance from the local Chimney sweep (a traditional East End good luck gesture) was awaiting their exit from the church, and Louise did extremely well to avoid turning up at the reception not covered in soot!
A cracking set of speeches highlighting John’s love of netball set the tone for party time which was in full swing as I took my leave. As much as I would have loved accept their invite to party with them late into the night, I think the local plod with have had something to say about it on my way back to HQ.
