A Century Soho Wedding.

Ben & Karly- Rose – married at Century Soho by possibly the best registrar in town! Out of all the ‘officials’ I meet shooting weddings I don’t think I can say that any of them come close to matching this registrars style and delivery (ok, maybe sometimes at Chelsea). Totally in charge, but in a  jolly nice way. Fully understanding of the fact that everyone is there to attend a wedding so smiles and laughter are allowed, especially when the Groom says “I will” after the very first question posed during the ceremony!. Much the same can be said of Century Soho, the private members club which played host to the Ben & Karly-Rose’s celebrations, a finer venue in town I doubt you will find.

So what about the all new Mr & Mrs Pearce then? What can I tell you about this mighty fine couple? Being a pictures rather than words man I think the best way to tell you about them is through the images below. My personal favourite is actually the one of them having just got married swishing back down the aisle. Not the sharpest pin point pixel busting in focus shot no, but one that sums the day for me. Enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed shooting them.

p.s The speeches were amongst some of the best I ‘ve heard but I wont be ‘badgered’ into revealing any of the content!

When you book a Portrait Shoot in London, as a photographer, its always jolly delightful when the couple you are shooting turn out to be such fine company.  As they are heading back to Korea soon, Mysungsung & Sang Joon were keen to get some images that would help them remember their time in London with a smile, so after a pre shoot cuppa and catch up we set out to do just that.  And what a pleasure it was to spend a couple of hours in their company, chatting about all things from real british ale to some of Soho’s more ‘discreet’ clubs as well as getting a crash course on what life will be like for them back home. Yes we were lucky the sun had its hat on, but I think we had have just as much fun if it was raining to be honest. As my Father-in-law always reminds me, if you love what you do, you never work another day in your life!

By the way, for those eagle eyed viewers out there, as much as I would to claim ‘perfect timing’ for the shot in front of the screen in Piccadilly with the ‘Ibuzz Korea’ ad showing, alas it was just luck.

If you are getting married at Le Talbooth, you really want to be able to enjoy the wonderful gardens during your reception, (as well as the food obviously) so it was no surprise that Jo shed a couple of tears on awaking to heavy rain on her wedding day. Cats & Dogs I think is the widely used expression for the sort of pavement bouncing raindrops in evidence, however, worry not, the sun had other plans and decided to arrive with all the other wedding guests just in time to see a slightly misty eyed Adam welcome Jo down the aisle (he must have got a fly in his eye!)

So on to Le Talbooth, a foodies delight, to celebrate both the arrival of Mr Sunshine, and more importantly Jo & Adam’s wedding. As seems always to be the case with weddings, the kids in attendance are the first of the dance floor skidding about and shape cutting before the more serious movers and groovers hit the tiles, so after the confetti explosion during their first dance Jo & Adam were well placed to follow the kids lead and skid about themselves. They hadn’t started this by the time I took my leave but judging by the energy that was emanating from the floor I don’t think it would have been too long.

Having lost her Father, Len, all too recently, Jo and husband to be Dan faced one of  lifes’ more difficult decisions about whether to go ahead as planned (as was Len’s wish) or to postpone. Following your Fathers wishes has always had certain merits and this proved to be the case  for Jo as she donned a brave and smiley face thus ensuring Len could have a look down to see his daughter enjoying her wedding day in the way every little girl (and boy) are entitled too. As is the case with all weddings, there was are few tears, a little time for reflection and plenty of time to party. So good for you Jo & Dan ( and the rest of the family), I would imagine you are more than pleased that you made the right decision.

On first glance at the weather, you may well think that Annalise & Peter got married last Spring rather than this, however due to a huge slice of luck and a mighty powerful following wind we were graced with the Sun’s presence on an extremely temperate Wednesday to accompany their celebrations.  Sometimes midweek weddings can feel like the guests are ‘holding back’ a smidge with one eye one the clock wary of the fact that work looms large the following morning. I don’t think you could say that about this one! Work or no work, these guys were out to have a good time and ensure that Annalise & Peter were sent off to more sunshine in the Maldives with a real ‘Spring’ in their step.

Just like buses these Junebug Weddings features! Ok, maybe not but still jolly chuffed to see another image published.
